The Department of Economics at Appalachian State University invites applications for two tenure-track, nine-month positions at the assistant professor or associate professor rank beginning August 2011. The first position is in the field of Macroeconomics. The second position is in the field of open-economy macroeconomics. The appointees are expected to maintain an active research agenda leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals and to provide high quality instruction in introductory and upper-level courses in the fields listed above. Additional consideration will be given to applicants who have the willingness and ability to teach business statistics. The standard teaching load is nine hours per semester. Responsibilities may also include student advisement, curriculum development, on-line instruction and/or instruction at off-campus sites. Candidates should have completed a Ph.D. by August 2011.
