DESCRIPTION

Position will spend 70% of time at either Braundera, Schertz, Davis-Scott, or Westside locations, and 30% at the Walzem Administrative Offices.

The Youth Development Licensing Director is the operational director for five (5) afterschool sites/day camps. With general guidance from the District Vice President and the VP of Youth Development, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring childcare staff completes all required training classes. The licensing director serves as coach and mentor to staff in correcting deficiencies noted by licensing inspections. The Director must perform all duties in accordance with state guidelines for child care as well as the policies, procedures, and standards established by the YMCA of Greater San Antonio.

DUTIES

After-School Program Director Duties (70%):
Supervises after-school sites in accordance with all applicable regulations and standards of the YMCA of Greater San Antonio;

Responsible for recruiting, development, supervision and evaluation of all staff and volunteers needed to operate programs;

Assists in developing the budget and manages expenses to achieve budgeted income and goals on a yearly basis;

Prepares monthly variance reports;

Starts up and closes down each program site;

Manages the administrative notebooks for each site;

Conducts random audits to maintain licensing standards;

Ensures quality to maintain enrollment numbers are at or exceed budgeted numbers;

Attends school events / branch events to increase enrollment numbers;

Maintains proper ratios at site to ensure staffing budget;

Ensures participant records are complete and at site;

Ensures all necessary enrollment forms are complete;

Completes monthly quality control logs for each site;

Ensures each site gets new roster on a weekly basis;

Communicates with parents, school principles, and staff peer groups to keep current information accessible;

Adheres to all TDFPS licensing requirements and completes action reports after licensing visits;

Participates in and sets up Y-Partners events for staff and members at each site.

Maintains lesson plans at each site and ensures implementation.

Attends PTA/PTO meetings at current sites.

Ensures the YMCA has presence at Kinder Round Ups and registration days at sites.

Maintains safe program areas, including indoor and outdoor areas, YMCA and non-YMCA facilities, and equipment.

Follow systems, practices, and training related to risk management and safety of participants and staff.

Completes Employment Information Forms (EIFs) for all employees for terminations, pay rate change, address changes, transfers, etc.

Counsels and coaches staff members according to the progressive discipline policy.

Licensing Duties (30%):
Develops policies and procedures for the YMCA after-school/day camp programs in accordance with all federal, state, local, and licensing regulations;

Conducts trainings and inspections to ensure all after-school sites are compliant with licensing requirements;

Represents the YMCA Youth Development department as liaison to the Texas Department of Protective Services (TDFPS) to ensure positive working relationship;

Coordinates all responses to the licensing agency;

Administers the goals and objectives of the Youth Development department in accordance with all applicable regulatory agencies; and

Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in early Child Development, Behavioral Science Education, or related field and five (5) years experience, including at least (2) two years supervisory experience in child care. Experience in child care management can be substituted for education requirement. Must be familiar with standard curriculum, practices, and procedures within child care and TDFPS standards.

Employee must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software. Must be an effective trainer and communicator with all levels of staff.

Incumbent must have 1st Aid, CPR, AED, and BBP certifications within 60 days of hire date. Required to complete all basic childcare and child abuse prevention training within 120 days of starting position. A Texas Driver's license is required as well as capacity to drive to various locations within the city. After-School Program Director Duties (70%):
