Subject to management approval performs highly responsible administrative secretarial work for the Office of the Deputy Director for Health Care Regulation; makes independent decisions requiring knowledge of department and office rules, regulations and functions; exercises considerable independent judgment in making determinations on various important problems which do not involve deviation from established policies and procedures. Performs administrative secretarial work, preparing correspondence of a highly complex and confidential nature, including those on collective bargaining issues; composes on own initiative the preparation of routine, special, or sensitive correspondence, reports and personnel documents and other correspondence pertaining to the various office programs. Supports the functions of the various boards and commissions under the responsibility of the deputy director and office.
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of secretarial or business college, and three years of secretarial experience; or completion of high school and five years' secretarial experience. Requires excellent computer skills and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products, EXCEL, ACCESS, and Lotus business functions. Requires working knowledge of agency programs, rules and regulations. Requires the ability to type accurately at 55 wpm.
