Advanced practice nurse who provides medical services to neonates, including diagnosis and comprehensive management of acute and chronic conditions. Service include, but are not limited to ordering, conducting, interpreting appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescription of pharmacologic agents and treatments and nonpharmocologic therapies in a cost efficient manner. Works autonomously as well as in collaboration variety of NICU staff to diagnose and manage neonates in an intensive care setting. Serve as health care resources, interdisciplinary consultants and patient advocates. Scope of practice includes clinical management, education and standards for professional practice. Demonstrates committment to a patient and family focused model of care.
