Corporate Liability Lender II
A rapidly growing area within Chase Card Services, located in Wilmington, DE, has an excellent opportunity for an individual with proven commercial underwriting and management abilities. Primary responsibilities include oversight of underwriting of both new applications and existing Corporate Liability Card credit requests with a strong focus on credit quality.
The individual selected for this position will be an experienced, qualified commercial credit professional with superior verbal, written, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills. Management responsibilities include managing the efforts of a team of Commercial Card Lenders and ensuring that the operations area is adequately staffed. Coaching, training and development of team members at various levels of expertise is an essential component of the role. The ability to interface well and build strong working relationships with internal partners such as Business Bankers, Business Development and Risk Policy is another important component of the role. The selected individual will provide high line signature approvals and assist management with various projects and recommendations for process improvements.
Proven ability to spread business financial statements/tax returns, perform ratio analysis, complete risk assessment and make sound credit decisions and recommendations via written and verbal presentations
Experience in defending difficult decisions and in negotiating counteroffers, where appropriate
Superior credit/lending and transactional knowledge as well as analytical abilities with little or no guidance required from immediate manager
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers and with various levels of management
Ability to work and lead in a team environment
Flexibility in adapting to changing volumes and areas of focus (new applications versus portfolio reviews versus initiation of collections, etc.)
Ability to investigate, recommend and initiate process improvements
Possess significant accounting and finance knowledge, and commercial banking experience
Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline(MBA a plus)
Successful completion of a major corporate bank commercial training program (or the equivalent corporate banking/corporate finance or accounting experience)
Minimum 4 years commercial credit management experience
Commercial credit card lending experience a plus
