Dosimetry Program : Review and process incoming dosimetery service applications. Manage badge process (new issuance, exchange, transfer) utilizing interactive database on the website and RADPRO2000 (campus dosimetry service providers) as well as Radiation Safety dosimetry database. Establish and devise alternative ways of lowering incidents of unreturned badges. Monitor applicants’ dose histories and badge wearer’s exposure history and prepare reports when requested. Serve as the initial contact person for all dosimetry-related questions.
Bioassay Program: Monitor campus users of specific isotopes to ensure wel-being of user and compliance with WI State Health Code. Coordinate collection of bioassay samples and breathing zone filters. Maintain all records relating to bioassay sample collection. Serve as the initial contact for all bioassay related questions. Perform thyroid uptake measurements for campus users of I-125 and I-131. Calibrate thyroid unit after each use. Maintain all records relating to bioassay sample collection. General Office Tasks: Prepare letters and reports. Filing. Procure supplies, materials and equipment. Assist other staff in scheduling on-site appointments. Provide guidance to student or temporary (LTE) employees.
