Description: Plan, implement and support manufacturing capability assessments of potential new global suppliers and strategic sub-suppliers of electronic components. Involve regional resources as appropriate.
Work closely with buyers and other appropriate staff in the strategic development of supply base and capacity planning concerning key component families.
Support the sourcing process through active participation in technical reviews, communication of requirements, and assessment of potential suppliers.
Perform technical review and audit of supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems, and monitor supplier improvements and corrective actions.
Implement and monitor the part qualification and certification process with suppliers and strategic sub-suppliers. Involve regional resources as appropriate.
Implement and support the change management process regarding supplier components.
Provide active participation and cooperation with engineering concerning product development strategies and implementation.
Provide support to local and regional plants as needed regarding planning, implementation, and issues concerning manufacturing, assembly and test of electronic components.
Function globally with various staffs and suppliers to coordinate/implement effective and timely resolution to quality issues.
Improve quality performance of suppliers by conducting workshops and/or training at supplier locations, providing technical assistance in developing quality systems, and other manufacturing technical support as required.
Maintain required documentation and files.

Position Requirements: Experience in EMS process – SMD, Wave and Selective Wave solder processes, conformal coating, In Circuit and Final electrical function testing, x-ray inspection and AOI, in-line programming etc.
Experience in Electronics and Electrical components manufacturing (PCBs, discrete silicon components, relays, Bulk Capacitors etc.)
Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant processes, procedures, facilities, and equipment.
Demonstrated ability to investigate quality problems and apply sound technical judgment to develop possible solutions.
Proficient oral and written communication skills.
High level of interpersonal skills to effectively lead, motivate and facilitate others in group situations and instruct others in new techniques.
High level of analytical ability to assess and identify appropriate alternative courses of action for definition and resolution of problems which are unique and diverse.
Highly proficient in desktop computer skills
Must be able and willing to travel internationally, frequently at times.
Certification in Problem Solving methodologies
