M-I SWACO is a world leader in oil and gas drilling products and services. We are currently seeking a Logistics Coordinator. This position will be located in Florence, KY.JOB SUMMARY:Coordinates the shipment of outbound goods both domestic and international and provides internal and/or external freight services necessary to meet customer delivery requirements. Supports the oilfield segment of the business to ensure import and export compliance including NAFTA according to the United States Homeland Security regulations. Essential Functions:A. Domestic Traffic1. Allocates freight charges to appropriate departments2. Works closely with purchasing and customer service to aid in the OTD process.B. International Traffic1. Directs and administers processing of international letters of credit, U.S. Customs documents, bills of lading, insurance certificates, and could possibly back up on coordinating import shipments with the customs broker.2. Coordinates and schedules the shipment of orders to customer locations both domestic and international.3. Prepares all documentation for international customer shipments.4. Works with freight forwarders to obtain freight quotes and status of tendered shipments.C. Intercompany Traffic1. Coordinates the transfer of goods between SWACO facilities.2. Prepares and manages all export documentation.3. Prepare and coordinate necessary paperwork for shipments to ensure that proper inventory transfers are made.4. Intercompany correspondence and shipment coordination.D. Compliance Issues1. Assist with NAFTA compliance for SWECO, SWACO and SWWC locations.2. Export Compliance according to the United States Office of Homeland Security.3. Import Compliance according to the C-TPAT membership obligations.4. Continued training to enhance and support the corporate Import and Export Compliance Policies.5. Legal and ethical compliance pertaining to questionable shipments/consignees/applications.E. Other Areas:1. Monitors all storage charges to ensure that containers and trailers are scheduled and loaded in a timely manner.2. Helps to ensure compliance with the Department of Transportation regulations.3. Maintains detailed and accurate records on the movement of goods from our facility to our customer's locations.4. Performs other related tasks as may be assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree preferred. Three years experience in an international and domestic transportation environment. Demonstrated computer skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge of international air and ocean transportation industry including various modes, major carriers, rate structures and routes. Excellent customer relation skills emphasizing on a proactive approach. Demonstrated knowledge of international shipping regulations and maritime issues including transportation of hazardous goods. Demonstrated knowledge of transportation regulatory matters and INCOTERMS. Working knowledge of international letters of credit. Ability to work under pressure, be flexible and adapt quickly to change.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES - SAFETY, HEALTH, and ENVIRONMENTAL Ensure that all activities are carried out in a healthy, safe and environmentally responsible manner.
