Manages the sponsored programs function for a college, including proposal development, submission, transfers, reporting and administration of awarded grants and contracts.

Job Duties:
Oversees sponsored programs for the college, ensures the timely submission of proposals and applications, negotiates the terms of research awards, and ensures the timely execution of awards and contracts.

Provide expertise and counseling to faculty in the areas of sponsor trends, funding opportunities, allowable costs, budget preparation, oversight and applicable agency guidelines.

Develops, coordinates and reviews multi-investigator and multi-institution proposals jointly with the office of contracts and grants.

Acts a liaison between the office of contracts and grants and the faculty and funding agencies.

Provides orientation and training to research faculty on sponsored program and university procedures.

Coordinates transfers of grants from and to the college and between institutions, including transfer proposals, budgets, and related compliance issues.

Manages college research staff, budget and resources.

Develops and administers a tracking database for proposals, awards and expenditures; and prepares external funding reports.

Performs other job related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.

Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
