Title : Veteran and Military Program Project Manager
Deloitte Federal Government Services has an immediate opening for a project manager in the Veteran and Military Program Management Office in support of the Veteran and Military Program, US Paralympic Military Program sponsorship including the Warrior Games presented by Deloitte.
We seek an internal candidate who is experienced in managing large, high-profile projects; planning and executing corporate sponsorships (or events) with numerous stakeholders and participants; and overseeing teams responsible for driving client outreach, employee communications and engagement, and marketing activities. This candidate should be comfortable developing and maintaining project plans, briefing and engaging senior leaders; and providing written and verbal updates and communications with firm leaders in the public and commercial sectors, hosting organizations, and other sponsors. The candidate will be involved in strategic messaging and positioning, social media strategy, and program measurement and evaluation. The position requires a candidate who is strategic and detail-oriented, outgoing, able to team and to work autonomously, and able to navigate the firm's large, complex environment.

About the US Paralympics' Military Program
In May 2010, Deloitte enhanced our commitment to the US Olympic Committee by becoming the presenting sponsor of the U.S. Paralympics' Military Program. The Program is an umbrella for all U.S. Paralympic military or veteran related activities, events and programs (except elite athlete programs). The program focuses on community programs and participation in sport as rehabilitation for injured service members, including Paralympic Sport Club activations and U.S. Paralympic activities at U.S. military bases and hospitals. About the Warrior Games presented by Deloitte
The Warrior Games is an Olympic-style athletic competition designed to support the recovery of wounded, ill and injured service men and women; over 220 athletes representing all branches of the Armed Forces including Special Forces and the UK's Battle Back Program participate in the event to promote opportunities for growth and achievement among those injured in service. Deloitte provides staff and volunteer opportunities to support the event volunteer management, medal ceremony and opening/closing ceremony coordination and programs to build relationships with our clients
The candidate will work directly with the PMO, Warrior Games team, Olympic Program team and interact extensively across Deloitte and with external members of the US Paralympics.
Activities will include:
Veteran and Military Program
-Provide guidance and information to assist Federal in developing a strategic and focused in portfolio of military-related activities, initiatives, and investments
-Federal sponsorship/pro-bono/PRD collection, review and coordination
-Presentation development of military-related sponsorships/volunteer activities and public speaking
-CEO Staff/Cross-Segment/Community Involvement coordination
-Marketing material development
-Shared email management
Warrior Games presented by Deloitte
-Support the development of Deloitte sponsored activities to activate on the sponsorship
-Participate in the operational activities of the event planning with the USOC
-Provide centralized management of all Deloitte sponsorship activities associated with the event (i.e. client program, employee communication and engagement program and marketing program)
-Support the development of materials for the sponsored activities
-Support the development of messaging with Deloitte Olympic Program team, Federal and National Branding
-Identify and coordinate with the appropriate resources to lead communications (internal/external), marketing, PR, multi-media/social media to deploy messaging)
-Measure and refine programs; provide centralized measurement of program ROI
-Coordinate with the Deloitte Olympic Program team and Warrior Games PMO team throughout the program and provide occasional on-site coordination during the planning phase
Pro-bono Project Management
-Conduct planning meetings to outline any future pro-bono project requests to the USOC for US Paralympics; support the development of a proposal
-Support Olympic Program team to identify a project team for US Paralympic pro-bono approved projects, if applicable
-Provide oversight and coordination of US Paralympics projects
Paralympic Leadership Conference
-Coordinate with US Paralympics, Deloitte pro-bono project team, and US Paralympic leaders to develop skills-based workshops for military and community programs and specific programming for the Paralympic Sports Clubs
-Provide project management for the development of the workshops and identify a team to conduct the workshops
-Coordinate with Olympic Program team to outline budget for chargeable hours and branded items
-Manage and maintain budget and branded items
Required Skills :
-7+ years' experience of demonstrated program or project management and communications experience, including sponsorship or event development and implementation
-Bachelor degree required
Preferred Skills :
-Prior military experience or consulting to the military a plus
-Experience or familiarity with Federal government projects and communications a plus
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Excellent interpersonal skills
-Excellent organizational and negotiation skills
-Exceptional attention to detail
-Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and deadlines
-Experience operating successfully in a fast-paced work environment and navigating large, complex organizational structures in order to accomplish tasks
-Strong project management skills
-Marketing communications and or event planning a strong plus
- Duration: This role is estimated to be a 15-16 month assignment and requires that the employee be transferred into the Federal Enabling Areas (Services Team), for that duration.
- Location: Rosslyn (Arlington, VA) - there may be flexibility in location. There is a strong preference for a candidate who is based in the Virginia/Washington, DC/Maryland metro area, as the other program team members and executive sponsors are based in the Arlington/Rosslyn office.
- Travel: Some travel is required, including working on site at the Warrior Games in Colorado Springs, CO, between May 9 and May 17.
Clearance (Standard): Selected Applicants will undergo a security / background investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
