Strategic partner for Merck Serono GOP (Global Operations)
in the area of Fertility, Endocrinology, General Medicine and
the Europe region for all IT issues and projects (the area of
responsibility is highly complex and large)
with key business knowledge in the area of Marketing and

Proactively building and maintaining a stable, constructive
relationship with the key internal people in the area of
Fertility, Endocrinology, General Medicine and the Europe

Providing client with information on the entire CI service
range and marketing it to the client

Communicating client feedback to pertinent IT units, in a
targeted and structured manner

Coordinating, escalating and following up on

Handling client expectations in a professional manner

Analyzing, evaluating, defining, developing

Supporting the IT strategy for GOP in cooperation with
the IM head for GOP and the business management and steering
its implementation

Supporting the IM head for GOP to meet the strategic
objectives for GOP in the area of Fertility, Endocrinology,
General Medicine and the Europe region, by steering the IT
project portfolio and system environment under the leadership
of the IM head for GOP

Analyzing GOP in the area of Fertility, Endocrinology,
General Medicine and the Europe region with regard to current
and future IT requirements

Identifying, recommending and implementing innovative
process, service and system solutions for GOP

Supporting the IM head for GOP to Produce an annual IT
activities plan for GOP and devising an appropriate IT

Ensuring cost-effective IT solutions (for example, by
exploiting synergies)

Writing a professional project and service report

Market monitoring & process optimization

Identifying problems and opportunities within processes,
independently seeking solutions with the involvement of other
colleagues and clients

Keeping track of developments in processes and technologies
in the area of expertise, applying new developments to the
situation within the company and driving the corresponding
pilot trials forward


Ensuring that all IT issues in GOP are resolved in a way
that is best for the company

Maintains contact with the clients of GOP (especially with
upper management) and offers advice in all IT-relevant
situations, on an international level as well

Project management

Managing challenging (interdisciplinary) projects

Working with other IS departments to acquire new

Organizational tasks: Training & leadership

Managing temporarily assigned staff in technical matters
(supporting trainees/staff joining projects)

Deputizing the IM head for GOP in technical and
organizational matters

Dealing with external partners

Commissioning, steering and monitoring external service

Required education and professional experience

Proof of specialist knowledge at the university graduate,
level, e.g.

University graduate with doctorate in the required
specialization and

Additional specialist knowledge and

Extensive professional experience

Professional experience or high exposure with Sales &
marketing functions

Required professional qualifications

Extensive IT knowledge
