To participate as a member of the culinary team with the preparation, production and service of menu items. Duties will also include the day to day upkeep and cleaning of the facility to include by not limited to the daily cleaning and sanitizing of preparation areas, equipment and refridgeration units, in addition to ovens, grills, griddles, warming units, table top and free standing equipment. Primary role will be to support food production systems throughout the course of the days needs and to provide service support as business demands dictate.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Support the members of the culinary team as daily production requires.
Efficiently complete daily preparation lists.
Maintain a clean and orderly state in the walk-ins, freezers and dry storage areas.
Provide basic support for food service stations during service hours.
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of all kitchen areas.
Independently produce a variety of hot and cold food recipes.
Understand and execute proper cooking technique for menu items on designated station.
Anticipate daily needs and work independently completing production tasks.
Explain and promote menu concepts to guests.
Fully understands safe food handling practices and procedures.
Support other kitchen staff in times of need.
Education & License/Certifications
Attended a food safety certification course.
Fluent English required
Some Spanish preferred
1 year food preparation experience preferred.
Must be able to use a variety of cutting tools both mechanical and hand operated.
Must have basic abilities to measure and follow a recipe.
Kneeling, bending, and standing, for extended periods.
Able to lift 50 pounds
Work in extreme cold or heat temperature
