Work with other loading personnel as well as outside animal carriers to load pigs with minimal injury and stress.
Ensure pigs are properly staged for upcoming movements.
Adhere to load schedules by following instructions from the Logistics Team.
Provide feedback to Logistics Team regarding times needed for the various loads such as top off, clean outs, etc.
Assist in the movement of animals, sort and relocation of "fall behind" pigs, removal of dead animals from pens and documentation as appropriate.
Maintain appropriate and accurate site specific records including PVP information, inventory numbers, and any other required reports.
Troubleshoot or notify supervisors of mechanical problems occurring at the site.
Work to resolve and fix routine maintenance issues when appropriate.
Effectively coordinate with the other teams to communicate the number of pigs sold per site.
Understand and follow all company bio-security guidelines, rules, and regulations.
Maintain cleanliness of alleyways, barns/rooms, office, shower, and areas surrounding the buildings.
Launder personal work clothing.
Handle animals with care and respect at all times.
Promote a safe working environment and report all work related injuries.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Have excellent animal husbandry skills.
- Ability to sort, load, and vaccinate livestock.
- Ability to operate power washer
- Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to handle exposure dust, noise, odors, and temperature extremes.
