This position will manage the technical design, development and execution of large and complex pipeline and facility projects from conceptualization through successful start-up. Project types may include new cross country pipeline s , pipeline facilities, underground storage facilities, gas processing facilities and/or petrochemical plants. Project locations will vary but will typically be in the central US. Potential office locations include Tulsa, Houston or Denver.
Produces basic engineering packages, cost estimates and schedules for proposed projects
Runs calculations, hydraulics, process simulations and etc. to confirm projects will achieve expectations
Sizes equipment, evaluates designs and validates equipment selections to ensure that designs meet Williams’ standards
Identifies and evaluates prospective engineering service providers and equipment vendors
Produces engineering, procurement and construction scope of work documents, deliverables lists, specifications and bid packages
Evaluates equipment quotes and contractor bids
Reviews and approves engineering documents and equipment selections
Oversees the work of engineering services providers and major equipment vendors
Coordinates Design Reviews, Management of Change process and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews
Addresses and resolves technical issues
Provides input to project scheduling, cost control and forecasting activities
Tracks and reports engineering and procurement progress relative to plan
Conducts regular project coordination meetings
Participates in construction management activities
Reviews and approves as-built facilities and documentation
Prepares and implements commissioning and startup plans
Prepares and files final project completion reports and records
Supports Project Manager and other project team members as needed in resolving issues and ensuring successful project completion.
BS in engineering, BSME or BSChE preferred
A minimum range of 8-10 years of engineering experience in a process oriented, E/C company or in an operating company with project engineering duties.
Possess a broad understanding of the major design engineering disciplines, i.e., Piping, Equipment, Process, Civil/Structural, Instrumentation, and Electrical.
Basic understanding of continuous flow chemical/physical processes typical of hydrocarbon processing, hydrogen production, and/or air separation.
Effective leadership skills.
Effective computer skills with Microsoft Office applications and MS Project.
Effective communication skills Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Professional engineer registration desired.
