The IT Business Analyst works as a liaison between Finance and Information Technology (IT) departments for a top twenty accounting firm with offices throughout the United States. The IT Business Analyst is responsible for application enhancements, server scalability and OS recommendations, data (analysis, validation, cleanup, extracts), reporting, end-user technical support, and will be heavily involved in the migration of the current Practice Management solution to Elite. This role can work out of either our Atlanta, Bethesda, or Roseland office locations.

IT Business Analyst Role Responsibilities
  • IT leader, subject matter expert, and tier 3 support
  • Build relationships with the business at all levels and with peers both inside and outside the firm
  • Identify, understand and document business needs and ensure the needs align with business rules and business logic
  • Understand principles and practices of the business and its existing workflows
  • Complete current state analysis, requirements gathering, process workflows, and documentation
  • Increase data integrity by ensuring that the database system is self-tuning and self-administering. Performing “after effect” data quality checks.
  • Maintaining regular data cleaning/scrubbing based on approved workflows & business policies
  • Promote consistent usability across all levels of usage
  • Communicate with the business on a non-technical level and with the IT department on a more technical level
  • Work with the business to develop and update system, training and user documentation
  • Be actively involved in the training of the end users and facilitate transition to the business.
  • Create and update reports
  • Maintain third party applications/modules/systems that interface with and/or impact Elite
  • Gatekeeper of the Administrator module to add and maintain users, security, teams and pick lists
  • Knowledge of the RFP process, vendor evaluation and selection
  • Participate in the creation of project plans and communicate status to all levels of management and serve as IT Project lead for all Elite related projects
  • Work with and manage outside vendor relationships including attendance at seminars and leadership meetings
  • Perform any other duties required to effectively support the effective use and integrity of the firm’s Elite system.
Technical Analyst Role Responsibilities
  • Ability to update/customize systems based on user requirements
  • Create SQL scripts, jobs, stored procedures, and triggers
  • Report development (Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Microsoft SSRS, Microsoft Frx)
  • Ability to solve any technical/business issue by using any of the applications, help files, vendor support, Wikis, blogs, and user forums
  • Test new enhancements prior to releasing to firm
  • Experience in data migration and data analysis
  • Perform extensive testing to ensure development conforms to the functional design specifications and plan for production execution
  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology and documentation
  • Participate in UAT planning & execution including the documentation and assistance in the execution of test scripts
  • Work with the IT department and facilitate Integration testing, Functional Testing, Regression Testing and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) to make sure that all the user requirements work according to specifications
  • Perform application upgrades (usually outside of business hours)

Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of two years of work experience administrating Elite Enterprise 3.9 (ELBS, EFMS), Business Intelligence, Records, Document Studio 5.8.1, Paperless Proforma 4.x, Extend, Webview 5.4, and Clarity
  • Minimum of two years of work experience writing SQL scripting and stored procedures
  • Proficient in working in multiple versions of Windows and related environments (e.g. SQL, Citrix, Servers, Windows and SQL Scheduled tasks/jobs, etc.)
  • Strong competency with Microsoft Office applications, including MS project, MS Access and MS Visio
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Minimum of two years of experience in business analysis, project management, and development
  • Proven skills in process flow analysis, diagrams, and business modeling
  • Excellent decision-making and analytical skills
  • Positive and organized approach to work are essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Willing to work as an effective member of a team, but capable of working independently to solve complex problems
  • Good project management, project delivery, and time management skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks with competing demands
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability in working successfully with senior business managers technology managers, and staff
  • Should be well versed in drafting communications and status updates on projects & assist the business with post go-live enhancements and improvements

IT Organizational Structure
  • Position will report to the IT Manager who reports directly to the IT Director of Business Solutions
