The Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services is currently seeking a full-time clinician position to provide outpatient mental health services to Spanish speaking children, adolescents, adults and their families. Services include assessment and evaluation (both mental health and substance abuse); individual, group, play and family therapy; case management, including medication case management; crisis intervention and stabilization; and interagency consultation and coordination of treatment services. Maintain all clinical records and documentation according to federal, state and agency policies and procedures. The candidate must be knowledgeable in child, adult and family mental health; demonstrate strong clinical skills in providing individual, group and family therapy; familiar with the diversity of Latino cultures and be knowledgeable of local Latino resources; possess strong organizational skills; and demonstrate the ability to function as a member of a clinical team. Work schedule will include Monday through Friday with evening hours two nights per week.


Requires a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling and/or marriage and family therapy and a minimum of three years related experience in the provision of mental health and substance abuse treatment. Demonstrate fluency in Spanish.


Prefer Master's degree and VA clinical licensure as a clinical social worker, professional counselor or marriage and family therapist, or ability to obtain licensure, with a minimum of one year professional experience in mental health treatment. Formal training in family and group therapy preferred.


Employment is contingent upon criminal background check, driving record check, and TB Test. Must have a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
