Job Title: Technical Architect-Applications
Drives, maintains, and documents the strategies of their domains in alignment with the overall Enterprise Architecture strategy and planning cycles. Defines, documents, and maintains the domain architectures and translates reference architecture into technical architecture designs. Maintains a current set of architectural documents for the infrastructure, systems, and applications within their domain and ensures these documents are shared and accessible by others as needed for technical knowledge.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
•Works with Enterprise Architects to ensure all standards and technical designs are consistent with the reference architectures for the organization.
•Maintains a program of standards review and updates.
•Assists working teams to define technical architecture requirements through business user conversations.
•Maintains expertise on technical architecture issues to serve as an advisor for project teams; assesses impact of introductions of new or changed architectures to existing components.
•Serves as a technical knowledge coordinator across multiple functional areas to support project design activities prior to the execution phase.
•Establishes partnerships with peers across geographies to coordinate standard approaches and communications.
•Coordinates capacity management within the domain architectures.
•Delivers training within their domain around the various Reference Architectures that impact the domain.
•Serves as Architecture Review Board member with a focus on their domain.
•Sponsors technology briefings, vendor presentations and architecture comparisons within their domain.
•As governed by the Enterprise Architect function, serves as a sponsor for proof of concepts or evaluating new architectures within their relevant domain.
•Maintains an understanding of the technical capabilities and limitations of systems, environments, and applications in the relative domain architectures.
•Shares their industry insight as it applies within their domains with other Technical and Enterprise Architects.
•Provides guidance for system and subsystem monitoring that is required to meet expected service levels.
•Plays the role of coordinator between the Enterprise Monitoring team and the domain functions.
•Creates an awareness of metrics required to substantiate domain architecture’s availability characteristics.
•Participates in documenting and validating Service Design Packages.
•Assists teams within their domain architecture with budget and prioritization of projects.
•Aids in maintaining and executing a technology lifecycle and rationalization program as guided by Enterprise Architecture.
•Expert knowledge of specific domain/discipline.
•Minimum of 5 years’ technical experience in the respective technical domain.
•Minimum of 3 years’ experience in technical architecture practices and techniques.
•Solid understanding of industry compliance regulations and requirements.
•ITIL/ITSM foundations level certification
•Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, technical related field, or business administration.
•ITIL/ITSM foundations level certification or equivalent experience.
•Superior analytical, evaluative and problem-solving skills and comfort with ambiguity.
•Excellent written and oral communication and listening skills.
Strong virtual working skills.
•Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems.
•Ability to motivate and inspire in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
