You will participate in an 8 month Technology Apprenticeship Program (TAP) designed to elevate specific IT technology skills across GECA. As a program member, you will work directly under the EA team with a dotted line into IT Originations. The TAP member will build expertise in ECM and Document Digitization while working on their respective project / app. When the 8 month rotation is complete, the TAP member will integrate into IT Originations to help grow the technology within their group.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Build new and maintain existing functionality, configurations, interfaces, utilities, and services using IBM’s FileNet P8 ECM platform and IBM’s Datacap Taskmaster Capture document digitization tool
  • Assist in project requirements gathering, solution design, application build, testing, bug fixing, deployment, and RTS support activities, coordinating efforts with onshore and offshore teams to complete tasks within defined schedules
  • Hands-on analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation, implementation, maintenance of IT solutions focusing on architecture across product lines / platforms
  • Follows detailed application technical design and adheres to GE design and security standards.
  • Creates design documents such as activity diagrams, data flow diagrams, user interface and interface mappings
  • Develops program logic or analysis and modifies logic for software, application and enterprise development using technical languages (ex: C++, Java)
  • Provides application software development services or technical analysis for a defined project
  • Advises and offers input on process to design, develop modify and adapts and system architecture, network systems for customer use
  • Actively participate in discussions with various teams regarding implementation and design of solutions
  • Ensure all technology solutions include appropriate controls that comply with risk assessment needs
  • Apply Architecture strategies to development efforts
  • Assess new technologies to enhance the development process and optimize application delivery
  • Enforce and Ensure Functional architect (use of templates, common designs)

    Qualifications/Requirements
    Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related discipline (or minimum 4 years of relevant work experience)
  • Minimum 2 years of software development experience involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle (or qualified recent bachelors graduate) Eligibility Requirements:

    Desired Characteristics
  • Experience with ECM technologies such as FileNet P8, Documentum, Hyland Onbase, or OpenText in relation to document storage, retreival, retention, etc.
  • Experience with advanced OCR / ICR and document digitization technologies
  • Experience with wing-to-wing support of enterprise applications
  • Proficiency in JAVA or .NET programming languages
  • Proficiency designing, creating, configuring, and working with SOA applications, services, and infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of SQL, ETL processes, Agile development, and DB design
  • Basic knowledge of XML and HTML programming languages
  • Basic knowledge of SAN and NAS storage technologies
  • Conceptual knowledge of new computing architectures and the implementation of networked computing structures emphasizing distributed computing; experience with e-commerce, Web architecture, and Internet / intranet development and implementation a plus
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs
  • Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence

  • Knowledge of IT controllership methodologies and standards; demonstrated experience though project execution compliant with systems development life cycle methodology
