Perform analysis, modeling, planning, and review functions associated with the fluid mechanical characterization of space launch and reusable launch vehicles. Assignments require analysis of steady and transient internal flows for both single phase and/or multi-phase in the components/sub-system of the launch vehicles and spacecraft. Responsibilities include proactive participation in multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve vehicle design and performance issues. Applicant will be required to be actively involved in technical interchange meetings, review of contractor analysis, as well as hardware and mission assurance reviews.

Maintain technical currency and be familiar with industry-wide developments and evolution in fluid dynamic technologies related to launch and space vehicles. Will be expected to work closely with the program office and interface with contractors, government laboratories and academia. Qualifications: An advanced degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering with a strong background in fluid mechanics is preferred. Bachelors degree and 2 years experience required.

This includes course work and/or research in both incompressible and compressible flows. Experience in the use of computational fluid dynamics techniques and/or analytical skill is desired. Some knowledge in the area of the mass transfer and/or heat transfer is preferred. Good oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with others and conduct studies independently are also required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance. IND123 Member of Technical Staff
