The Product Information Coordinator harvests, stages and maintains product information for business units across Thermo Fisher Scientific. Utilizes best practices for content development within a multichannel authoring system. Assists in the deployment of content to support various output channels, including print collateral and the Web.

Responsibilities include:
  • Working with divisional marketing stakeholders and/or external content sources (suppliers/contractors) to harvest material such as product specifications and other relevant data/metadata
  • Ensuring data is structured and parsed appropriately and that complex formatting is applied to support websites, print publications, and other go-to-market formats
  • Working with PIM Editors to ensure that product content is consistent with corporate style requirements and brand guidelines and in compliance with Legal requirements (domestic and international, as assigned), including patent, trademark and intellectual property disclosure
  • Validating taxonomy classification for every product and ensuring that required specifications for products in that category are fully populated
  • Applying tags and metadata to content to optimize content for maximum search effectiveness on supported web sites as well as indexing for print publications

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Technical Writing, a Scientific discipline or related field
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications and Web search techniques
  • Solid spelling, grammar, and writing skills required to create and edit content
  • Must be results-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as effectively within a team environment
  • Must possess strong project/time management skills, including the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and time sensitive situations
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and responsibly in regard to project progress and deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to adapt to changing priorities, including timelines and expected deliverables

Preferred Experience
  • 1-3 years’ experience creating and maintaining content
  • Working knowledge of scientific terms, abbreviations, and characters a plus
  • Experience with content management systems and taxonomies a plus
