Our greatest asset has been and will continue to be our people. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individuals to fill the position of Geoscience Technician within our Mid-Continent group based in Houston, Texas.
The Geoscience Technician candidate will provide technical support to a multidisciplinary Reservoir Management Team (RMT) of geoscientists, engineers and business development personnel involved in the design and implementation of oil and gas exploration and development programs.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Database management in various software packages, including loading/entering, verifying, manipulating, analyzing, correcting and reporting data related to wells, seismic, leases etc
Move data between software platforms efficiently and accurately
Preparation of maps, slides, montages and reports in support of technical presentations and recommendations
Provide software systems support to team personnel and troubleshoot user problems
Training for these applications will be provided for lower experience Technician candidates. An understanding of fundamental geoscience principles and applications is desired for upper level candidates.
New employees begin their assignments with an assigned mentor and peer advisor, as well as extensive on-the-job and classroom training in the oil and gas industry and various petroleum software.

BS in Geoscience, Geography, Computer Science, Math, or Computer Science
Demonstrates a strong aptitude to learn technical applications pertaining to job responsibilities (such as geoscience interpretation tools)
Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Familiarity with the fundamentals of petroleum geoscience desired
Strong business awareness skills; results oriented and self motivated
Ability to work with minimum supervision and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Effective verbal / written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
This position is eligible for 9/80 flexible work schedule
