This position will have responsibility for minority undergraduate student recruitment initiatives and programs. Position will serve as the primary liaison regarding diversity recruitment between UNL and high schools, community programs, and community colleges. Responsibilities will include undergraduate recruitment, community relations, and implementation of programs that will allow greater use and visibility of the human, educational, and technical resources of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in these areas.
Bachelor's degree plus one year experience working in higher education or related field required. Must have public speaking experience. Experience working with minority students and demonstrated ability to related to minority, first-generation and low income populations necessary. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential. Must have valid driver's license and be willing to travel. Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision necessary.
Master's degree preferred. Event planning experience desirable. Marketing experience helpful. Undergraduate recruitment experience and knowledge of minority recruitment preferred. Knowledge of the state of Nebraska and its challenges amongst under-represented populations, UNL's High School and College Relations operations and procedures, and of UNL's multicultural programs helpful. Supervisory experience desirable. Bi-lingual in Spanish helpful.
