Performs electrician duties at the journeyman level for the Cheyenne Uplink Facility. Position works the 2ond or 3rd shift .

Will include but not be limited to the following:
Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits.

Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, testing lamp, or growler.

Replaces faulty switches, sockets and other elements of electrical system.

Mounts motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures onto positions and completes circuits according to diagram specifications.

Provides guidance, direction, and OJT to other electricians during work assignments.

Inspects completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes.

Applies mastery skills in adapting procedures, techniques, tools, and materials and/or equipment.

Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Estimates time and materials on electrical projects.

Skills and Qualifications:
Good written and oral communication skills.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability work independently and apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

Education/Experience and Certification Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and the necessary training and experience required by the Journeyman Electrician’s certification. Licensure for WY or CO. Experience in a commercial or industrial environment required.
