Our SAP BW Developers have advanced programming knowledge in SAP development and testing and solid knowledge of SAP overall. Developer has in depth knowledge in at least 2 technical areas and of SAP development tools with a firm understanding of SAP architecture. The Developer is involved in all phases of a life cycle implementation, including development of specifications, prototypes, design, configuration, testing, go-live, user training and post production support. The SAP Developer works closely with our functional configuration consultants to ensure accuracy and completeness of functional requirements creates technical specifications and the development of programs according to specifications. The Developer is responsible for technical component delivery as well as full integration testing and assumes responsibility for testing the application code from a technical perspective to verify that programs follow standards and meets technical specifications. The developer will actively participate in work groups and work sessions with functional and technical consultants and lead groups and work sessions with functional and technical consultants when required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance. U.S. Citizenship required. Successful candidate will be subject to a background investigation. Ideal candidates will have minimum 2 years working in SAP BW development and experience working on at least one complete life-cycle implementation. The consultant should have demonstrable skills of interfacing with customers, problem identification and resolution, and gathering requirements as necessary. The candidate needs to have depth and breadth in their core SAP expertise and experience in integration with an ERP environment. The individual should be capable of leading small teams of 3-5 resources and able to deliver solutions with minimal guidance from project managers. Good writing and documentation skills are required.
Build and enhance BW objects such as InfoObjects, InfoCubes, InfoSources/Data Sources, Master Data, Transformations, Update Rules, DSO, Extractors, Infosets, Aggregates, Process Chains, DTPs, User Exits, BADI.
Business Explorer Suite (Required) (BEx Query Designer, BEx Web Analyzer, BEx Broadcaster, Report Designer, BW Web Reporting)
BWA Index maintenance
Responsible for requirements gathering & analysis, working closely with business users
Monitor, communicate and troubleshoot issues with data integrity, data design, and functional and technical software issues.
Build and optimize ETL Process chains
Troubleshoot BEX Broadcaster Issues
Develop and drive the implementation of BW best practices and standards for the team.
Perform routine program modifications, performance tuning, problem solving, debugging, and unit testing.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in communicating with client via formal written deliverables
Experience working with CSC Catalyst and/or equivalent client or project-mandated methodology
Additional experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus:
SAP Core Experience in BW 7.0 - at least 3 life cycles in multiple areas such as SD, MM, INV, PP, PLM, FI, CO, CATTS, HR and PAYROLL
BW 7.30 Upgrade planning and Execution
- ABAP/4 and Object Oriented ABAP programming, macros, customer exits
- Integrated Planning
- BWA Administration
- Experience with SAP Business Objects
- Certified in BW 7.0
Integrate BW with other systems including EWM
Experience with BW Release 7.0 is essential. SAP ECC 6.0 certification is a plus.
- Working knowledge of the LMP deployed solution
- Working knowledge of LMP procedures, including development lifecycle and sustainment processes
- Experience in providing leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel (Leadership).
Essential Job Functions
Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents highly complex programs. Develops complex test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs.
Designs systems and programs to meet highly complex business needs. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs are developed and coded. Creates appropriate documentation in work assignments such as program code, and technical documentation.
Gathers information from existing systems, analyzes program and time requirements. Prepares time estimates and justifications for assigned tasks and provides recommendations to project managers.
Supports project personnel in resolving fairly complex program problems. Works with client and management to resolve issues and validate programming requirements within their areas of responsibility. Provides technical advice on complex programming.
May serve as technical project lead; provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. Conducts quality assurance activities such as peer reviews.
Provides consulting services in a technical and/or managerial capacity to management and technical staff. May represent company in presentations or conferences involving customers, co-contractors, suppliers, competitors, academia or the public.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics or related field preferred
Nine or more years of programming or testing experience
Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems and software
Experience working with relational databases to facilitate programming software
Strong skills in programming
Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs
Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
Good communication skills to work effectively with team members, support personnel, and clients
Good leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel
Ability to work as part of team and independently
