Reporting to the Director of Nursing/Maternal Child Services, the staff RN is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members.

Requirements

Current CA State licensure as a Registered Nurse.

Current CPR certificate.

Minimum 1 year experience in LDR or successful completion of a course in neonatal assessment and assessment of the laboring patient within 6 months.

NRP & ACLS preferred, required within six months of employment.

Basic fetal monitoring required within 90 days of employment.

Advanced fetal monitoring required within one year of employment.

Experience and/or training in leadership preferred, if acting as a charge nurse.

BSN, or equivalent experience, required if classified as an RNII.
