Quality Engineering Six Sigma Black Belt to improve product quality levels by using Six Sigma Quality Planning and implementation. Successful candidate will take a direct hands-on role in implementing measurement systems analysis, process capability improvements, and root cause/corrective action. Must be able to effectively utilize and influence cross-organizational resources to achieve both individual and team goals. Will be responsible for training both hourly and salaried employees in quality systems and procedures. Will interact mainly with internal contacts. Occasional travel between North American Operations (NAO) facilities (Olean, Wellsville, Painted Post). Will act under the direction of Process Innovation/ Quality Director for the Olean, New York Operations, but must be capable of independently leading technical teams in problem identification and resolution.
Minimum of a BS Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent education and work experience
2 years experience in quality engineering in a manufacturing environment
Six Sigma Black Belt
Microsoft Office Suite, Minitab, other statistical and SPC packages
Job Specific Responsibilities/Qualifications :
Participate in and lead continuous improvement and break-through projects using DMAIC model in Lean Manufacturing setting
Implement FMEA and Control Plans, Gage R&R, Process Capability Studies
Improve Quality and Yield through Root Cause Analysis/Corrective Action and Mistake Proofing
Change agent working with various shop floor individuals and work groups, supervisors, and managers
Drives and coaches implementation projects to reduce scrap/rework and improve yield and product throughput
Pareto and identify key opportunities to reduce Cost of Scrap and Rework
Contributes to $9MM project cost benefits together with Operations Mgmt., Manufacturing Engineers, and other PI team members
Interacts with areas within D-R North American Operations, but primary responsibility within one plant location
Work within and improve the quality system
Utilize formal and shop floor techniques from problem identification through mistake proofing
Flexibility in problem solving approach requiring cross-departmental interaction, technical challenges and workload/schedule constraints
