The Patient Care Technician assists the professional nursing staff with the delivery of basic nursing care tasks and support duties under the direct supervision of the licensed professional.
High school diploma or equivalent. Medical terminology preferred; basic knowledge of patient care principles in assigned service line desirable or the ability to demonstrate achievement of position specific competencies.
· Other qualifications/certifications/license:
Basic Life Support certification required. CNA certification through North Dakota Health Department required or registry as an Unlicensed Assistive Person with the North Dakota Board of Nursing required within one month of employment or currently enrolled in an accredited nursing or health care professional program. Strong interpersonal skills required. Must be able to comprehend policies, patient records, physician's orders, procedures and guidelines.
