Purpose of Position
Responsible for the construction, space utilization, scheduling of preventive maintenance, repairs, compliance with safety policies and regulations, and supporting the daily activities of the facility and maintenance department for buildings and grounds. This position also provides Tabware support, project management and technical support to Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and New Products Group as it relates to building use, plant safety, quality, & cost reductions

Key Responsibilities

Ongoing Tasks:
Coordinates all facility and maintenance activities associated with the daily maintenance of the buildings and outside grounds
Coordinates and prioritizes repair of injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment
Manages all aspects of Tabware.
Works with Engineering on evaluating maintenance risk assessment on new equipment, makes recommendations to ensure current maintenance standards are met
Assists in developing documents and maintains through CAD, manufacturing floor and work cell layouts
Leads and/or participates in corrective action teams. Documents team actions, makes recommendations and communicates to all levels of the organization, as required
Assists the Manufacturing Department Head in the Maintenance Departments development of the annual department budget
Consistently Leads by Example' reinforcing and supporting Corporate rules and expectations including all plant policies and procedures
Provides direct supervision to non-exempt employees according to the established policies and management guidance
Assists in planning plant and office layouts, and aids in the planning of production equipment layouts for economy of operations and maximum utilization of facilities/maintenance and equipment
Partners with Manufacturing Department Head in developing criteria and performance specifications for facilities required to meet operating requirements and building & safety codes
Responsible for training records and ISO requirements for the department

Project Tasks:
Take ownership for the maintenance and daily up keep of the facility
Take administrative ownership for Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system; drive for cultural use by all manufacturing departments
Develop performance metrics for maintenance, report monthly
Support in the development and maintenance of a spare part inventory system, which is linked to equipment critical path assignments and can be tracked by dollar value

People Responsibilities

Total # of direct reports: 6-10

Direct Reports and Titles: Maintenance Coordinator, Custodians, and Maintenance Workers

4-year bachelors degree with 5 years related experience
Experience in building construction, HVAC systems, electrical and manufacturing, with particular focus on maintenance systems and procedures
Experience with plastic injection molding machinery and related equipment
Ability to interpret CAD (Computer Aided Design) drawings and technical equipment manuals
Computer literate, particularly with Microsoft Office products (Excel and Word), CMMS programs. CAD ability a plus
Good communication skills: verbal, written, and electronic
Must be a self-starter who is able to work in a team environment
