Provide administrative leadership for promoting student
understanding about ethical expectations and addressing student
behavioral violations. Understand fully the Code of Student Rights,
Responsibilities, and Conduct and the Procedures for Bloomington
Campus, in order to serve as a campus resource for students,
faculty, staff, and others who use the code. Supervise the campus
judicial process, ensuring that administrative hearing officers,
hearing commissions, review board, and peer judicial boards
understand and effectively accomplish the goals of the system with
emphasis on student learning and community safety. Oversee training
about the campus judicial process. Serve as a hearing officer in
academic and serious personal misconduct cases. Meet regularly with
campus police, Dean of Students staff, and Residential Programs and
Services staff, to review critical incident reports and coordinate
threat assessment. Manage departmental fiscal accounts. Supervise
and provide annual reviews of office staff. Member of the Council
on Student Affairs that convenes academic administrators to
facilitate communication about student affairs issues, such as
academic integrity and campus safety. Convene Sexual Assault
Service Providers Network and oversee collection of data pertaining
to sexual assault reports from campus and community agencies. Meet
regularly with Student Affairs deans to assist Dean of Students in
administration of division. Participate and provide leadership in
The Code revision process, working with the governing groups whose
approval is necessary for adoption of the code. Qualifications: 5-8
years' experience working with student conduct in a college or
university environment, including academic and personal misconduct.
An advanced degree in higher education or related field is
required, doctoral degree preferred. Candidates also must be able
to show an understanding and appreciation for working with diverse
populations of students and staff, experience with staff
supervision and fiscal management, and competence in decision
