POSITION SUMMARY: The Sr. Java Developer ’s role is to develop leading edge technology solutions and integrations to the E-Commerce site for The Golf Warehouse. The Sr. Java Developer is also responsible for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading existing web and mobile applications.

This individual will apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to implement solutions for mission-critical information and software systems. JOB DUTIES: • Participate actively in software design discussions • Write code that is both functional and elegant, following appropriate design patterns. • Design and develop systems that are maintainable, supportable, and scalable. • Design and implement unit tests • Diagnose production issue and provide quick turnaround solutions • BS in Computer science or equivalent working experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge " Experience • 3+ years direct experience in software development using Java or other Object Oriented programming languages. • Proven experience in designing and coding missions critical applications in web commerce environment. • Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies. • Extensive experience with core software applications, including Oracle, MS SQL Server, Apache Tomcat, WebSphere Commerce, RedHat Enterprise Linux, Eclipse IDE, Subversion • Expert level in programming languages, including Java, SQL, HTML, HTML 5.

  • Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures, project lifecycle models, etc. • Knowledge of database design and file management techniques. • Excellent understanding of the organization ’s goals and objectives. • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Complete understanding of secure coding techniques and PCI Compliance Personal Attributes • Strong customer-service orientation. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills. • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Ability to conduct research into application development issues and products. • Highly self-motivated and directed. • Keen attention to detail. • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
