The Associate Director for Housing Operations oversees and coordinates assignments, marketing, conference and guest room operations, and business development for University Housing. The Associate Director is responsible for the following: Management and Supervision: Housing Assignments: â?¢ Manages the Housing Assignments operation for 21 residence halls and 2 on campus apartment complexes, housing over 9,000 students â?¢ Coordinates the efforts of Housing Assignments with various campus partners for 11 living and learning villages and special programs â?¢ Responsible for identifying the updates on processes and procedures related to online assignment process (i.e. assignments, cancellations, room changes, financial transactions, statistical reporting and web processes that allow students to conduct much of their business with University Housing online) â?¢ Manages Housing appeals process â?¢ Maintains administrative calendar â?¢ Reviews campus safety and ADA concerns and issues â?¢ Develops housing renewal process â?¢ Manages a staff consisting of 2 Student Services Assistants Marketing: â?¢ Develops and maintains partnerships with Admissions, Registration and Records, Disability Services, Joyner Visitor Center, Communication Technologies and other campus units whose services are integral to the assignment process and campus living environment â?¢ Identifies campus and community constituents and develops relevant information to share the University Housing story â?¢ Develops marketing strategies to recruit and retain residents in campus housing via: â?¢ Print - oversees the design and writing of various student resident agreements, publications, brochures, newsletters, and various marketing and promotional items (i.e., staff uniforms, giveaways) â?¢ Web â?? oversees the design and maintenance of University Housingâ??s website and other online marketing efforts including Facebook, You Tube, podcasts, etc. â?¢ Public Outreach â?? oversees department efforts and involvement in open houses and visitation days â?¢ Manages a staff consisting of 2 Public Communication Specialists Conference and Guest Room Operations: â?¢ Oversees the Conference and Guest Room Operation, which generates annual revenue totaling approximately $1 million â?¢ Oversees the partnership efforts of Conference and Guest Room Operations with various campus partners including University Dining, Transportation, Carmichael Complex, and Communication Technologies â?¢ Manages a staff consisting of 1 Assistant Director, 1 Conference Manager, 1 Community Director (seasonal), and approximately 45 seasonal student workers Business Development / Planning: â?¢ Ensures consistent communication with internal and external clients â?¢ Performs data analysis for areas of responsibility â?¢ Coordinates and represents the department at various outreach events â?¢ Explores options for business development using residence hall and apartment facilities â?¢ Participates in housing advisory committee meetings â?¢ Oversees the development, implementation and training on the business Continuity Plan and the Disaster Recovery Plan for Campus Life, including the Building Level Planning document Budget Management: â?¢ Develops and manages a budget exceeding $1.5 million Training and Teaching: â?¢ Designs and implements professional training sessions for unit and department staff as needed â?¢ Teaches a one-semester RA course, Topics in Student Development

Minimum Qualifications:
Masterâ??s degree in college student personnel, higher education, counseling or related field. Five years full-time, post-masterâ??s degree residence hall or related work experience, with an emphasis on assignments, marketing, or business development. N/A
