This non-tenure, 12 month (negotiable) position will carry a 2/2 teaching load, in addition to academic advising at HPAO .
Teaches introductory courses in a candidate’s area of academic expertise.
Conducts workshops and presentations and engages in professional development opportunities related to health professions advising.
Develops advising and counseling workshops and materials.
Advises students following health professions (including degree programs and pre-professional tracts) about curricular information, course scheduling, major selection, degree requirements, alternative courses of study, and other support centers on campus.
Hosts events highlighting professional schools and careers and represent Health Professions Advising at recruiting functions.
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring Department.
1. Provides support to the Director and Assistant Director in the development and implementation of a comprehensive advising program for students of the University, such as those with undeclared majors and in health professions.
2. Advises students on their academic curricula and makes suggestions based on one-on-one interaction with the student.
3. Provides students with information and support related to preparation for professional and graduate programs in the health professions, as well as information and support related to preparation for undergraduate programs at the University.
M.A. degree in an academic field from an accredited college or university
1 year of experience related to the above described duties.
