Security and Compliance Scanning Support Needed in Pensacola
Provides local and remote server support and maintenance to Windows 2000/2003 server systems.

Essential Job Functions
  • Analyzes, logs, tracks and resolves complex software/hardware matters of significance pertaining to networking connectivity issues, printer, servers, and applications to meet business needs.
  • Coordinates hardware/software installations and upgrades to ensure work is properly performed in accordance with company policy. Recommends resolution to complex matters of significance and coordinates the implementation of the approved course of action.
  • Coordinates and monitors troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems; documents system events to ensure continuous functioning. Recommends course of action and implements as approved.
  • Oversees the installation of client department-specific applications and systems. Ensures installations are in accordance with appropriate operating procedures; determines revisions or updates to installation as needed.
  • Coordinates testing, upgrades and configuration of system files and services. Ensures changes are in accordance with appropriate operating procedures; recommends revisions or changes based upon results. Prepares for and prescribes approaches to possible downstream implications.
  • Utilizes standard corporate tools to record change and problem activities for tracking purposes.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related field preferred
  • Four or more years of experience with computer systems or networking
  • Experience working with computer hardware for installation and upgrades
  • Experience working with software installation/upgrading procedures
  • Experience working with file and system maintenance procedures

  • Good analytical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot systems problems
  • Good communication skills to communicate with support personnel, customers, and managers
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic Qualifications: Prefer Bachelor's with four (4) years related experience or eight (8) years in lieu with H.S. Diploma. Prefer a minimum of two (2) years related experience in server support.
    Develops and implements system security policies to ensure that systems were protected from threats both within and outside the network. Able to manage individual user accounts using Active Directory. Ability to support all aspects of a server to include hardware, software, troubleshooting, wiring and documentation.
    Provides local and remote server support and maintenance to Windows 2000/2003 server systems. Configures and utilizes network protocols such as TCP/IP. Complies with standardized support procedures for reducing server downtime. Responsible for applications dealing with the overall operating system including file maintenance routines, networks, system software, or mathematical/scientific software packages. Supports, configures, and maintains client servers and network, including installations and maintenance, managing system security, and updating software. Analyzes, researches, and recommends hardware, software, and emerging technology for use. Installs cabling and verifies network connectivity using industry IEEE standards. Maintains inventory of computer equipment, drivers, software, and patches for equipment and communicates with manufactures to replace warranty parts and components.
    DoD 8570 mandated certifications Security+, CompTia A+, and/or Network + MCP, MCSA and/or MCSE certifications are preferred.
    Key Competencies: Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, WINS, MS Server 2003/2008, Server hardware support.
    Clearance: Possess or able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance.
