Operate large, stationary, industrial equipment including, but not limited to, a crusher, chipper, bailer and grinder. May operate motorized vehicles such as a forklift, bobcat, loader, etc. in the performance of tasks related to the handling of recycling materials; may transport equipment on public right-of-ways and City owned facilities; perform a variety of duties related to the recycling process and minor maintenance and repair on this machinery.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED, supplemented by one (1) year specialized training in the maintenance and operation of industrial, gas or diesel powered equipment, plus two (2) years experience in industrial equipment operation and maintenance. Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License.

Position requires: Background check, Pre-employment physical, CDL Physical, Odd days off.

Perform a variety of skilled construction and/or maintenance tasks
Read and interpret maps, sketches, drawings, specifications and technical manuals
Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time in unfavorable weather conditions
Work independently in the absence of supervision
Understand and follow oral and written instructions
Communicate clearly and concisely
Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required
