Provides hardware and system designs within product design guidelines maintaining high levels of standardization at minimal costs.
Communicates product designs through drawings, specifications and other related documents.
- Converts engineers' rough product design sketches into working documents by digitizing with computer aided design (CAD).
Develops and designs drawings to fulfill technical objectives consistent with established guidelines, customer requirements and design specifications.
Provides input to alternative product and system designs as required. Initiates Engineering Change Orders per Engineering Change Order procedures.
Evaluates design alternatives as applied to product systems, products or parts development and recommends design changes that meet production capabilities at favorable costs.
May participate in planning and scheduling of design and drafting projects.
Works closely with IS on CADD system issue/problems.
Communicates technical designs through drawings, specifications and other related documents to manufacturing, purchasing, vendors and customers for appropriate implementation.
Participates in all phases of project pre-design (feasibility) through fabrication, including manufacturing reviews.
Provides support on CADD hardware and software issues and works closely with IT on CADD system issues/problems as required.
Prepares or assists in preparation of product instruction manuals and engineering standards, as required.
May assist with prototype modification and testing of samples.
Keeps informed of new or improved methods, materials and other advances in engineering technology and software.
Associates degree or equivalent technical experience
Minimum of two plus years mechanical or industrial CADD design experience
Experience working in an manufacturing setting
Experience working with Unigraphics
Project management skills
