The Food Service Worker NA-2 will work at the Decatur facility in the Canteen Service.

Incumbent responsible for setup up cafeteria lines, steam-tables,
dining room table, and side service stands with hot and cold food items
including meats. Vegetable, salads, desserts, bread ect. Incumbent will serve
food cafeteria style by placing uniform portions of food on customers plate. He/She complies with all safety rules and health
provisions addressing sanitation and food handling. Ensures refrigeration of
food, liquid, meats, etc., and that they are properly wrapped and stored
avoiding contamination or spoilage. Keeps assigned food areas clean at all
times. Cleans and/or moves trash, and cleans machines, dishes, dishwashers,
dispensers, refrigerators, etc.
She/he uses hair nets, hats, and rubber
gloves and practices good personal hygiene when working with or around food. Assist
with catering, sets-up food areas and tables, and carts food, beverages, etc.
to catering locations.
She/he is required to operate equipment
as required and in accordance with instructions; e.g. dishwasher, cash registers,
electric can opener, vegetable chopper, conveyor toaster, steam table, fry
saver, boasters, bread, mixer, and sandwich packager; required to operate a
cash register in accordance with operating standards and instructions.

PHYSICAL EFFORT : The position requires constant standing, bending, stooping, and stretching with freguent lifting up to 40 pounds and occasionally over 40 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS : Usually works indoors in areas which normally have adequate heat, light, and ventilations. Will be exposed to vibration from heavy equipment and to skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions used in stripping floors, etc., as well as subject to cuts and bruises. Continually exposed to dust, dirt, and disagreeable odors, and is frequently exposed to organic material which may be contaminated and/or infectious and require special handling.
EXPERIENCE : A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume or OF-612.
