Primary Function & Major Responsibilities Performs screening mammography procedures under the direction of a Radiologist.Performs mammography procedures to aid in diagnosis determination.Provides appropriate shielding to assure radiation protection.Utilizes appropriate measures to provide patient safety.Assists Radiologist or other staff physicians in procedure performance to expedite patient flow.Assists in maintenance of equipment to ensure proper function and availability.Maintains department aesthetics to ensure appropriate image.Maintains supply inventory to ensure availability of required items.
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology with ARRT (R)registration in current standing. Board Certified in Mammography or graduate of MTMI (Medical Technology Management Institute).
Training in all aspects of mammography.Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Possesses skill and knowledge to operate mammography equipment;Ability to work independently;Ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds;Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups (neonatal through geriatric). Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development through the life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's needs in relation to age and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.Regular/Temporary
