We are hiring an experienced Senior QA Engineer who will be a key member of the team responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Tout.com application suite. Ideal candidates validate products and distributed systems implemented within diverse tech stacks, are comfortable leading the charge, remain mindful of team wide objectives, and have a knack for improving not just what we deliver but how we go about doing so. A skillful generalist with deep expertise in QA best practices, we are looking for quality experts to augment and enhance our team here at Tout. This person will work at all levels of the application, from back-end to front-end, and have the opportunity to make a substantial difference in a small but fast-growing startup. This is a full-time position located in our offices in the South Beach/SOMA area of San Francisco.

Responsibilities:
Ensure the products we deliver are polished, to spec, performant, and exceed customer expectations

Test full stack feature implementation efficiently and comprehensively

Help deliver Android, iOS, web apps and their systems to market quickly, with confidence and accountability

Work closely with other engineers, product, and UX to refine process and methodology

Deliver new and/or contribute to existing test automation and CI frameworks

Minimum Candidate Qualifications:
Experience testing modern mobile (Android, iOS) and web application (Ruby, Java) implementations

Comfortable with SQL and NoSQL databases

Familiar with Ruby, Java, Javascript systems, applications, and interfaces

Working knowledge of *nix systems (Ubuntu)

Experience contributing to test automation frameworks (Cucumber, Selenium, Watir, mobile automation)

A collaborative approach to testing and a commitment to teamwork

Comfortable in an Agile start-up environment where innovation and change is the norm

BS degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent experience

Experience working in a TDD/BDD environment (e.g. Test::Unit, RSpec, Cucumber)

Strong communication skills including the ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences

Additional Stuff That Would Be Cool:
Experience with video or social applications

Experience validating integrations with third party social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc)

Experience with cloud hosting - Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, and Heroku

Prior experience contributing to performance and load testing highly desired

Familiar with CI tools (e.g. Jenkins, Hudson, Teamcity)

Familiar with DVCS (Git, Mercurial) and branching

Exposure to configuration management systems (Chef, Puppet)
