Summary
Consistent with the Christian mission and Hope for Life Vision of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the Sports Director, the Clock / Score Keeper is responsible for the documentation of each game they work. The Clock / Score Keeper must be able to run the clock at each game.

Required Skills
This position requires an individual who is a self-starter and organizer with good communication skills. He/she must have the ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds while effectively supporting and communicating the YMCA character values and mission. This position requires an individual who is knowledgeable of the rules of the specific game and who has the ability to run the score clock at each game.

Education / Experience Required:
•Minimum 16 years of age

Certifications Required:
• Pre-hire: complete YMCA of Middle TN application for employment, new hire packet and Praesidium Child Abuse Detection / Prevention training

• Before start of first shift: CEO parts 1 and 2, First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Emergency Oxygen, and BBP

Responsibilities
• Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.

• Ensure safety and quality at all times.

• Set up and break down equipment: ensure the score box with score sheets, game schedules, rules, position arrow, and game ball (if necessary) are at the gym; ensure all items referenced are returned to the YMCA at the end of the day, along with the completed score sheets.

• Know / learn the rules of the specific sport.

• Actively maintain cordial and positive relations with volunteer coaches and parents of participants of the program.

• Make sure each team has a volunteer scorekeeper to keep the score sheets during their game.

• Provide the volunteer scorekeeper guidance in keeping the score sheets and work as a team.

• Collect the completed score sheets after each game.

• Promote benefits and services of the YMCA.

• Ensure that the mission of the YMCA is incorporated into all services provided by the Youth Sports Department.

• Serve as an effective member of the YMCA staff team, performing other duties as assigned.
