Supervises Sterile Processing activities associated with processing of equipment, supplies and instruments utilized for diagnostic or surgical intervention. Activities include decontamination, packaging, sterilization and issue to the user departments. Interprets policies, procedures, standards and regulations. The supervisor will support the manager in carrying out department objectives. The supervisor provides a leadership role for the continuous quailty improvement. Supervisor will be involved in interviewing and hiring scheduling, coaching, corrective action and performance reviews. Must have good interpersonal skills necessary to direct the work of subordinates and to communicate effectively and interact with all levels of the medical staff.
High school diploma or equivalent with five (5) years Sterile Processing or Surg Tech experience
ADN or BSN may substitute for 2 years of the experience requirement. Must have experience with Sterrad, Steam and ETO Sterilization, Knowledge of Decontamination, Assembly, Packaging and Sterilization Procedures and ability to identify various Surgical Instrumentation, Team Leader or Supervisory Experience. Supervisor Certification from CBSPD or IAHCSMM, and knowledge of Instrument Tracking Systems (i.e. SPM, Censitrac, GE Ipath) preferred.
