General Description
Supervises all personnel engaged in the operation and support of network facilities, including all communications equipment in large scale or multi-shift operations. Supervises complex operations that involve two or more additional functions such as, but not limited to, network operations, systems security, systems software support, and production support activities.

  • Responsible for all activities relating to technical guidance for planning, directing and monitoring information systems operations
  • Implement security requirements as required by Computer Tasking Orders (CTOs); identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities
  • Plans and recommends machine modifications or additional equipment to increase system capacity
  • Evaluates vendor proposals for purchases
  • Directs records compilation and production, malfunction and maintenance reports
  • May advise or consult on organizational, procedural and workflow plans, methods and procedural analysis
  • Analyzes workflow plan results, monitors operating systems and recommends processing and utilization improvements.
  • May have departmental staff responsibility and frequently report to an Information Systems Operations Manager, Director of Information Systems Operations, or Project Engineer/Manager
  • Review and analyze Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) and determine plan of action for implementation into enterprise
  • Conduct server maintenance and configure new servers for enterprise
  • Oversee testing of Apply software updates, patches, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs) as required to maintain compliance with Information Assurance (IA) policy
  • Support operational business units to ensure growth of existing customer accounts Work Experience Requirements
  • Secret clearance or eligibility required; United States Citizen
  • Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Gold Disk, Retina, and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) policy and guidance to ensure CIA (Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability) of data Education Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Applied Science-Computer Programming, Computer Science or related field
Skill Requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as exemplary presentation skills
  • Excellent IT/IA skills with a strong emphasis on Active Directory and VM-ware; prefer experience with Citrix and Server 2003 or 2008
  • Strong aptitude for problem solving, decision making, and active learning skills
  • Well developed leadership skills
  • Must have strong work ethic, sense of urgency and a high energy level
  • Self-starter: hands-on, bias for action, results oriented
  • Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends to meet business needs
  • Ability to travel 25%
