As part of the Diversified Financial Services business unit and Installment Lending team, you will manage a Systems Support team, which is comprised of experienced business and system support individuals with analytical, project management and technical on systems backgrounds. The ideal candidate will be an organized, analytical, energetic leader who will proactively manage the timely delivery of client, business and corporate projects while effectively and efficiently utilizing systematic and human resources. Key Responsibilities:
Manage and prioritize job duties of direct reports within the area to meet various strict project deadlines.
Mentor "best practice" project management and system development / testing methodologies to direct reports.
Coordinate system support activities for three business operation systems and several internal databases.
Manage proper identification and documentation of requirements, design, testing, implementation, and post implementation reviews.
Manage production support provided to users.
Manage the development, improvement and maintenance of system application, modifications and databases utilized by the department, ensuring proper controls, efficiencies, compliance, and accurate financial activity.
Collaborate as liaison with other internal organizational teams; Information Technology, Accounting, Actuarial, Operations, Business Units, Financial Claims and including various locations such as Puerto Rico and Canada.
Develop and maintain department procedures, policies, documentation, and goals while providing overall direction to ensure delivery of efficient and effective services.
Assess and prioritize system modifications, conversions, and implementations.
Establish and maintain professional working relationships both internally and externally to achieve department, business unit and corporate goals.
Provide assistance and guidance to business and system analysts as necessary.
Hire, develop, evaluate, and (when necessary) discipline and discharge subordinate personnel or make authoritative recommendation in such matters.
Ensure ongoing training for personnel specific to systems and project methodologies.
Establish standards for effective job performance and evaluate subordinates according to such standards.
Manage area's expenses within cost center budget. Qualifications Required skills/experience:
Bachelor's degree in MIS or level of knowledge generally gained by such a degree.
5-7 years of management experience in system support, project management and/or a development area.
Strong leadership, communication, technical, logical, critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent project management skills.
Ability to learn new applications and equipment and the ability to influence staff to learn continuously and improve performance.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
Ability to process complex time sensitive data and information from multiple sources, make decisions and communicate actions.
Ability to manage multiple projects, concurrently to meet strict deadlines and budget criteria.
Ability and initiative to work extra hours as projects and deadlines dictate.
Experience working with Microsoft Access/Office/Excel/Word, Mainframe Applications, and Web Based Applications. Desired skills/experience:
Project management certification.
Business analyst experience or certification.
Bilingual (English/Spanish.)
Six Sigma (Black/Green Belt) Certification.
