Requirements:
Registered nurse license in Pennsylvania. Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in Pennsylvania. Certificate of Prescriptive Authority in Pennsylvania. National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in area of education/subspecialty (Pediatric Acute Care/Critical Care). Master’s degree from an accredited graduate school of nursing, in a Pediatric Acute Care/Critical Care program. Previous cardiac experience preferred. Previous Nurse Practitioner experience preferred.

All CHOP employees who work in a patient building or who provide patient care are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption.

Job Description:

In collaboration with an attending physician, the Electrophysiology Nurse Practitioner is an independent health care provider who provides care in both the outpatient setting as well as the inpatient and procedural setting. The components of the role include clinical practice, consultation, professional development, education, and research.

  • Utilize advanced assessment skills to manage a cohort of Electrophysiology patients in collaboration with the EP attending physician in both the inpatient setting and outpatient clinic. Ordering and interpretation of relevant lab testing, developing plan of care.
  • Organize and administer individualized age specific care to patients undergoing electrophysiology studies, ablations, or other diagnostic studies in the EP lab. Participate in EP procedures in collaboration with EP attending physician.
  • Participates in device management (ICD’s, Pacemakers)
