Assistant to the President

Responsibilities: NYIT seeks an Assistant to the President to support the Office of the President on our Manhattan campus. Using independent judgment and decision making skills, the selected candidate will serve as liaison in the day-to-day operations and ensure smooth operations of administrative responsibilities; manage all local and/or other travel arrangements for VIP visits to the Manhattan campus, as well as meet and greet campus tours; handle confidential correspondence and create reports; facilitate and coordinate on site meetings and events; assist with special projects. He/she will serve as liaison to the Board of Trustees (BOT), with responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, gathering and preparing materials for electronic distribution for BOT meetings in Manhattan and Old Westbury campuses, making all necessary arrangements for BOT meetings, providing information and support for BOT Chair and Committee Chairs, as needed, as well as serving as liaison for audit reviews and BOT minutes. The Assistant to the President will also attend selective meetings at both campuses, take minutes, and provide follow- up communication while maintaining Board archive books.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree and prior experience in a formal office setting required, executive assistant and higher education experience a plus. Candidate must possess a professional demeanor and the ability to work discreetly with senior executives in s confidential manner. Excellent interpersonal, communications, and computer skills (MS Office suite) required. Limited travel between the Old Westbury and Manhattan campuses also required.
