To provide general cleaning and custodial services for County Facilities. This is a Part-Time position currently scheduled 4:00am to 8:00am Monday through Friday.

Examples of Duties:

A.Perform a Variety of building and grounds custodial duties such as:
Cleaning restrooms:
1. Toilets
2. Mirrors
3. Floors
4. Sinks
5. Urinals
6. Walls and stalls
7. Replace paper, soap and sanitary items

Dusting/polishing woodwork
Vacuuming/Cleaning Carpeting
Sweeping, Scrubbing and waxing floors
Washing windows
Washing walls
Emptying Recycling and refuse bins
Snow Shoveling
Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.


High school diploma or GED equivalency
Three (3) or more years of cleaning work experience in a commercial setting.

Physical Requirements:

A. Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
B. Ability to walk, bend, squat, push and pull for extended periods of time while performing position related tasks such as mopping, shoveling, raking climbing stairs and sweeping.
C. Occasional heavy lifting or moving of office furniture and cleaning supplies.
D. Vision required to determine areas that need cleaning, see dirt, see results of cleaning.
E. Hearing to safely perform the duties of the position.
F. Ability to read and interpret directions and labels on signage, memos, cleaning equipment and supplies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

A. Considerable knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in general cleaning and maintenance work.
B. Capability to make sound judgments in emergencies.
C. Availability to work early morning shifts.
D. Ability to work cooperatively with other maintenance and Courthouse staff.
E. Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
F. Ability to read and interpret equipment operating instructions and material safety data sheets related to cleaning supplies.
G. Ability to determine and maintain appropriate inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
H. Understanding of confidentiality laws and requirements.
I. Self-starting individual.
J. Responsibility to report energy/utility waste issues including running faucets, toilets, heaters, thermostats, etc..
K. Ability to set and reset security and alarm systems.
