Provide supervisory guidance, project management and personnel support for New Accounts Technical Team. Provide training, coaching, development, process improvement, and problem solving to personnel in one or more areas. Provides team members with direction, setting expectations, giving instructions and support on how to answer complex or difficult inquiries ensuring prompt, satisfactory resolution of customer inquiries, problems, issues or errors. Handle escalated issues for the department and provide risk oversight. Partner with the branch offices and other business lines to solve problems and improve processes. Work with department manager and technical consultant(s) within area(s) to meet departmental work objectives. Work with employees in Operations, business lines, and other support areas on projects related to their department.
Supervises 3 Technical Consultants and 2-5 Associates and Senior Associates.
Interacts with Operations employees, correspondent firms, branch personnel, clients, RBC groups and external vendors.
Coordinates/leads department projects.
Major Position Accountabilities:
Supervise and direct the daily workflow of one or more unique production processes or multiple related processes within operations.
Participate/lead project teams and represent area(s) programming requirements, process changes, and testing needs.
Train new employees, provide ongoing coaching/feedback, recognition, development and performance management.
Interpret procedural, policy or administrative concepts to answer questions and solve problems.
Handle escalated issues, provide risk oversight and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Recommend changes to standardize processes and procedures.
Establish and maintain credible, professional relationships with internal business lines and external customers and/or vendors.
Assist department manager in budget and salary administration.
Assist department manager in establishing annual strategic priorities.
Refer to department manuals for instructions, task assignments and work functions required for the specific role.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
High school diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related field preferred.
Series 99 Licensed or ability to obtain with in 120 days of starting position.
Five years of job related experience in operations.
Previous supervisory experience in operations, finance or banking industry.
Demonstrated aptitude in directing and leading individuals, teams and projects.
Working knowledge and understanding of operations and systems experience including workflow products, Client Source and PostEdge.
Ability to effectively lead, train and provide work direction to others.
Strong customer service and organizational skills and attention to detail.
Effective problem identification, analytical and resolution skills.
Proficient computer skills in Windows-based software products such as Word, Excel, Access and Outlook with typing proficiency.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced and deadline driven environment with the ability to provide direction to other team members.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
