Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Health System in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction. Responsible for the performance of tasks related to project completion, including but not limited to, analysis, training, testing, documentation, problem resolution, and implementation of an application. Provides input and assists in developing project plans.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
In addition to the technical aspects listed in the posting the successful candidate needs to be a self-starter, able to work in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment with a proven record in project management and an ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
Occasionally responsible for the work of others. Receives general supervision from Director, Program Director or management designate.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
B.S. in Computer Science, Information Science, health care related specialty or equivalent experience. Must have experience in systems design or detailed application experience. A good general understanding of technical limitations and capabilities is also required. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have demonstrated analytical ability and prefer a general understanding of the health care industry. Must be able to interact with senior level management, as well as project participants.

Performance will be judged by:
1. Timeliness of task completion.
2. Quality of work products.
3. Degree to which initiative and responsibility are demonstrated.
4. General work attitude and ability to cooperate with others.
5. Adherence to Geisinger Health System and Information Management policies.
6. Keeping management informed.
If a qualified candidate cannot be found at this grade level, candidates with less or more experience may be considered at a different level.
