The successful candidate will also have experience designing user interfaces and software for instrument control, data acquisition and data analysis/classification. As a project manager of Product Development Teams, the candidate will make significant contributions to the creation of technical solutions in the commercial realization of new products and/or detector innovations.
The position also requires frequent travel to the Cabot Mountain View site.

Ensures proper documentation of research activities
Integration of opto-electronic and opto-mechanical hardware components with custom software solutions to create new platform detection systems
Development of spectroscopic test methods and interpretation of data
Work with the engineering, R&D and manufacturing groups to support and troubleshoot new product development
Works with Customers, Business and Research and Development functions to translate customer product specifications into development programs and leads the execution of projects
Mechanical CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred)
Basic software and electronic circuit design
Assists and supports the design, building, testing and qualification of scientific instrumentation
Adhere to the product development process; design review, revision control, configuration management, and documentation standards

PhD in Chemistry, Physics or Electronics with a minimum of 3 years of industrial experience in product development. Or, a Masters in Chemistry, Physics or Electronics with 5 years or more of industrial experience in product development.
Excellent scientific and technical knowledge of detection hardware, spectroscopy methods and user interfaces and software for instrument control, data acquisition and data analysis/classification. An understanding of optical materials is desired.
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
