SAIC currently has an opening for a Aviation Mission Planner.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The selected applicant will join an organization that provides mission planning and intelligence support to military and other government agencies. The individual hired will work with a team of operational analysts to plan and evaluate both flight test and real world missions in support of United States government goals and objectives. The position supports on-going computer modeling for aircraft survivability. The position includes interaction with customers.

TOP SECRET / SCI clearance required. The candidate must be prepared to work a dynamic schedule that fluctuates to meet the mission needs and may include weekends, night hours, and long duration shifts. Candidate will also have to pass a polygraph upon hiring

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS: Bachelors degree and eight years of DoD aircrew experience with demonstrated skills in combat mission planning and flight operations coordination in an up tempo environment. Electronic Warfare (EW) background highly desired. 4 years of directly related experience can substitute for a degree.

Electronic Warfare (EW) background highly desired. 4 years of directly related experience can substitute for a degree.

Must be highly competent with PFPS Falconview. Must have an understanding of Red/Blue/Gray strategic and tactical defensive systems and their associated armaments. Must demonstrate competence working with Microsoft Windows operating systems, as well as Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Ability to complete assignments with little supervision. Must have good written and oral communications skills. Willing and able to work flexible hours (including other-than first-shift) and travel as required. Overseas deployment a possibility.

DESIRED SKILLS: Basic understanding of the key factors in aircraft survivability and military electronic warfare aviation experience is highly desired. Experience with military aircraft navigation and navigational systems. Experience working with the intelligence community. Graduate of military electronic warfare school. Experience with military mission planning tools and autorouters. Experience with near-real-time ELINT situational awareness tools such as GALE-Lite. Experience using standard DoD mission-level models such as SUPPRESSOR. Competence with UNIX operating systems.
