Positions in this function provide legal advice and services on issues concerning the rights, obligations, and privileges of the organization. Protect the organization's rights in contract negotiations, settlements and litigation. Provides a full range of legal advice and services and may specialize in one of more areas such as mergers and acquisitions, commercial law, contracts law, benefit law, securities, anti-trust investigations, tax law, regulatory and compliance. Requires a J.D.

Conducts legal research and analysis under the direction of others.
Provides legal advice and legal work product to clients directly, under the direction of others.

Develops specialized knowledge regarding state and federal law and regulations applicable to health care and health insurance products and services.

Supports the creation and legal review of marketing materials, media statements, and other consumer facing materials.

Drafts contracts and other legal documents.


Juris Doctorate degree.
3+ years of legal experience.
Excellent presentation and writing skills.
Work will be self-directed in some instances and assigned by other attorneys in other instances.

Preference for experience in health insurance or health law.
Preference for experience with state or federal regulatory bodies.
Demonstrated interest in the health care industry.
Ability to evaluate and determine appropriate legal course of action to meet business unit needs.
Ability to build and maintain rapport with superiors, peers, subordinates, and external contacts.
Serves as a resource to others.
